Shay Mitchell

I know this is the third time today that I'm posting, but this has been bothering me since last Tuesday.

Tuesday was the premiere of Pretty Little Liars on ABCFamily and the book series is one of my absolute favorites in the WORLD.  As soon as I saw Emily, though, I went ballistic.  I wondered WHERE I had seen her before.

Because I had to cram like crazy for finals, I never found the time to search her.  Well, I just did, and she was in Up Where We Belong!  She was the model that Mia talked to when she (Mia) was about to have a meltdown over her speech.

Just in case you watch both shows and wanted to know ;)

P.S. I PROMISE I'm done with posting for today!

Love, Loss, and What I Wore

[The below information is from Toronto's Love, Loss, and What I Wore Will Star Canadian Divas Pitre, Dale, Martin and More by Kenneth Jones.  WE DO NOT OWN THIS.  This is our own summary, though.]

Lauren Collins and Paula Brancati are scheduled to be part of a cast that will rotate in four-week cycles starting July 16 for the new Toronto production Love, Loss, and What I Wore.  Other stars include Andrea Martin, Louise Pitre, Wendy Crewson, and Cynthia Dale.

the producers described it as the following: "Love, Loss, and What I Wore is a collection of stories based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman, as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons' friends. Like the popular book, it uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to."

Annie Clark Confirms and More

On her Twitter, Annie Clark tweeted to a fan "She gets abused yes, but it's not so similar to Terri".

Hmm..?  Terri ended up in a coma and her 'boyfriend' died...

More Twitter news...

Raymond Ablack tweeted us again (: He posted the lyrics to a song I just so happened to know, and I asked if it was the same song, and he said "yup yup!" which pretty much made my day.

You know what else made my day?  Hearing that this blog got 344 views yesterday!  And 314 of those 344 (which is about 91%) were on JJ's Boiling Point post :D  CONGRATS, MY DEAR!

Samantha Munro... "So I'm moving? (Maybe) Parents are putting on offer on a house today. (The house has a barn :O!!!! YUSSSS)" <-- Please don't leave Toronto!

Recap

I'm not sure if we posted all of this information, so I'm re-posting before we begin our hiatus for end-of-year exams.

1. Season 10 is 48 episodes.  It sounds like a lot for one summer, but one will be shown every weeknight at 9, starting in July.

2. Degrassi: The Boiling Point <-- This is on ACESonline3's channel, NOT MINE.

3. DTM has been announced with a plot that goes something like this: Jane and Holly J. set out for NYC.  Jane finds a new love that she's never dreamed of.  Holly J. is working towards becoming a TVM intern in Times Square and she will also be able to see Declan.  Back in Canada, Spinner is reuniting with Jay, Manny, and Emma, and they're having a blast. (Sorry, my summary writing skills are all worn out.)

4. I never actually published my review of Forgetting Sav Bhandari but if you watched it leave a comment with your remarks and maybe the review will actually be put out.

5. We forgot to announce Paula Brancati's birthday (June 4th) and Adamo Ruggiero's birthday (June 9th). HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND WE LOVE YOU!

6. List of Degrassi Losers

Degrassi: The Boiling Point

A note to all blog new-comers: This post shows up a lot in Google.  However, it's relatively old.  Our blog is filled with Degrassi goodness, though, so feel free to use the search feature or just look in our archives on the left-hand side of the page for more recent posts with relative spoilers, reviews, and some behind the scenes secrets.  Thanks for reading! :)

So rumor has it, Degrassi's gonna reach the boiling point.  But since I had no idea what that meant, I decided I needed to do some extra research (by that I mean I had to sit in front of my TV and thoroughly examine the "Boiling Point" trailer.)  Here's what I've gathered.

Drew, a new character, walks in, saying he just transferred to a school down the street, which I'm gonna assume is Degrassi.

Eli sounds BRITISH which makes him infinitely awesome, but he also sounds like a complete sex offender (or just a mysterious sexy British guy?).  Eli flirts with Clare ("You have pretty eyes.")
Please note: the character sounds British in the trailer.  I'm not calling the guy a Brit.  Chill.

Declan: You promised no drama.
I think that's just kinda there to indicate transition because we all know there's gonna be drama.

Now Drew's threatening to reveal Riley's secret about being gay (hey, even the amazing Marco didn't come out to everyone all at once) and Riley seems genuinely threatened.  "You better step aside for QB1." It's a shame, too, because Drew is absolutely adorable.

Fiona walks away from this guy who kinda looks like a gross version of Zac Efron (no idea what his name is) but he gets mad and pulls her arm in a way that clearly hurts her.

Voice-over: And lies so devastating (cue Declan, Holly J, and Spinner head-shots.)
Spinner looks angry with Jane and Jane looks like she's gonna cry.  Spinner shouts, "You think I'm stupid Jane?  I HEARD YOU!"  Then Spinner swings a punch.  Rewind.  Slow down.  Spinner swings a punch at some guy in a bluish whitish shirt.  Rewind.  Slow down even more.  Spinner swings a punch at... Declan?!  Something tells me the Jane and Declan fling secret JUST got out.

Sav, Bianca, and Adam seem like they're doing something illegal in a potentially epic car chase scene while these two slimy looking guys I've never seen before get thrown up against a wall.

Drew and Alli seem to be together being all romantic, but I can't tell if they're the same clip or two completely unrelated scenes. (Well, in THIS PROMO, at about 0:23, Alli and Drew are together in Alli's house... -Mango)

Fiona struggling with that guy again.

Sav making out with some brunette... looks like Anya to me and now I think Anya's say "I thought it would be different this time."  Could it be they get back together again?  (I just looked at the 'Shark In The Water' promo again, and Holly J. fires a dagger at Sav on the target... maybe the brunette is HER?! That would be WEIRD. -Mango)

Sav just looking confused.

Is that gross guy Fiona's with kissing Jenna?  That looks like his chin.

It looks like... Declan and Riley are beating up Drew?

KC gives an angry look, Alli gives a spiteful look, Clare gives a hurt look, Holly J. gives a content look, Drew gives a "yeah, I'm really this hot" look (but I think there's more to it than that.).

Two football players hitting each other...

Someone's punching this skinny guy who reminds me of J.T.

Fiona gets hit.

Sav screams.

Principal Snake: From the point on, the school is in lock down.

I personally cannot wait for this summer.

TeenNick June Highlights

I give you one thing to look forwards to during this "Movie-Splosion" thing this June - Degrassi Goes Hollywood.  Yeah, that's right, they'll be ending with a bang affectionately known as DGH in June 18th.  And soon after that, TeenNick plans to jump into another "Every Degrassi Episode Ever" marathon that should last four weeks before giving us what we've all been waiting for... "Degrassi Takes Manhattan."  (DTM has less of a ring to it than DGH.., DNYC?  A little better, but I'm sure DTM will sound just fine if I say it over and over again.  DTM DTM DTM DTM DTM DTM DTM DTM DTM... okay, I'm good.)

Hey Mango?  I see another screening party in the near future :)

And after DTM, Degrassi season 10 starts soon after, airing 24 episodes over the course of the summer.  That means four episodes a week, every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday!  I can't wait! :D

Shannon Kook-Chun

I LOVE THIS GUY.

He is a door and a ball.

A-door-a-ball (:

ShandosMangos Warddrobe fittings and script discussions at Degrassi. A great day. Love the new Director. Pumped for shooting next week :)

He is THEEEEEE 2nd cutest guy on Degrassi now, bumping Landon down one spot to #3 (Raymond is first, DUH!).

I also found THIS while stalking his Twitter page...

New Characters

After much analysis of the "High School is a Carnival", I've come up with the following:

Drew
When Drew uses the mallet to test his strength, the ball goes straight up at full-speed.  This shows that Riley is going to have some competition for star athlete, especially since Riley is now openly gay.
Drew also likes Alli Bhandari.  She reciprocates his adoration.  How is that "Degrassi"?  Dave also likes Alli Bhandari.  Oh, snap.  LOVE TRIANGLE!

Adam
The next part in the clip shows what looks like a girl who is dressed as a guy.  This is Adam.  Adam is transgendered.
What?
You read that right!
Degrassi is throwing in something new!  Now we're cooking with sauce here!

Bianca
"The Girl Who Makes Boyfriends Disappear"
At first I thought it was Fiona due to the lighting, but after pausing and playing and rewinding then playing again, I figured it out.  She reminded me immediately of Jenna, except she'll probably go after guys like... wait.  Who is there to go after?  Danny?  Spinner?

Fitz
Fitz isn't actually "new" he's just going to be "more developed".  He's now using Wesley (who I LOVE), Connor, and Dave as his targets, so he's like, Bruce the Moose and Johnny combined.  Except I thought Bruce was "Mister 2-Credits-Shy"..?

OLDIES BEING RE-DUN (Old characters, that is, not plots)

Anya
"The Two-Faced Girl"... with snakes?  ER?!  <-- Enough said!

Jenna
"The Girl Who Doesn't Know Her Own Secret"?  This intrigues me... maybe KC will break up with her due to said secret..?

Clare
...and Eli?  This is... unexpected.  And the thing with the cards?  "The Lovers" and "Death"?  Hi there, "a pair of star-crossed lovers" AKA ROMEO AND JULIET?  Sellout!

Fiona
A black left eye... Either she gets into the fight of the century or she is abused.  Three guesses which one?
OH MY GOSH!
I actually cannot wait for the new season!  It actually sounds like they're going to step it up a notch (or five) and go there.  Like, legit get real.  I am SO FISHING EXCITED.

Keep On Loving You

I'm writing this right after the finale because I have all-day sectionals for track tomorrow, then I have a project to redo for Living Environment, a DBQ for Global, and a research paper for English.

The music in the episode was e x c e l l e n t !  I really, really, really, REALLY hope they put it on iTunes, especially the song that Jenna sang and the "Shark in the Water" song.

"Shark in the Water" is a song by VV Brown, and by the way, the acoustic version is VERY nice.  The clip that was shown at the end of the season finale was called "High School is a Carnival" which is an analogy I haven't heard before, but when you ponder it for a while, it totally makes sense.

The main plot of this episode was great, because they totally threw me off guard when Mrs. Coyne decided to move to Manhattan.  I mean, we saw this coming, since the Coyne's move around a lot, but it was so expertly hidden!

The subplot was a bit cliche, but the switching of the water bottles was a work of perfect irony and the fact that they allowed Space Awakening (based on Spring Awakening with Jake Epstein? Hmm...) to premiere at Above the Dot was cute.

Overall, I liked the episode.  Sure, it wasn't the best finale ever, but you know, it's DEGRASSI - you can't hate on it!
