The Boiling Point Schedule

For those TeenNick junkies out there like me, this is important for you to know.


The movie, Degrassi Takes Manhattan, will be airing on the 19th of July, a Monday.


The episodes will then be starting on Tuesday, the 20th of July and will air that Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.


The next week, we will be in sync with Canada, airing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

EveryDegrassiEpisodeEver (It's So Epic I'm Not Using Spaces)

Unlike the usual Degrassi marathons, this one isn't all Degrassi, all day.  In order to drag it out up until Degrassi Takes Manhattan, the marathon is playing the episodes in relatively chronological order, but back-tracking every day a little bit.  Additionally, the episodes don't start playing until 6:00 PM, so if you're a Degrassi hater (first of all, go see a priest and have him cleanse you of your sins) this marathon isn't ruining all of television for you.


Count-down to the boiling point begins now :)

Drake Shut Down!

They shut down Drake's concert at the South Seaport!

Apparently "violence erupted" and the NYPD shut him down!  (I had asked my mom if I could go... thank goodness I didn't!)

According to Drake's Twitter: Police are shutting down the show at South Seaport! I'm on my way anyways...Drizzy Hendrix Woodstock 2010

The concert was supposed t be last Tuesday, actually.  Forgot to mention that.

Drake also said "NYPD will not let me go on stage tonight".

Why am I finding out about this NOW?!  It happened last week!  Well, I was looking up everyone who went to the MMVAs for another post I was preparing for today and found this on Drake's page!

I was gonna put this in my last post, but it was so relevant I gave it its own post.  So, you know who I like?  Jordan Todosey.  Guess why.  You don't care?  Fine, be like that, but I'll tell you anyway.  SHE TWEETED US.  3 times, too.  Hey, Jordan?  We like you a lot.

Did you know she was in The Pacifier?  I liked that movie, but now I like it even more.  She wasn't a really important character, but she was in it so it counts.  She was then in some movie I've never heard of called "The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio."  After that, she did an episode of "Instant Star," Santa Baby, and some more stuff I've never heard of before landing a gig on the most important show in Canada, Life With Derek.  And not even some little role like Kendra.  She was supposed to be RELATED to Michael Seater.  That's like a million Canada brownie points.  She can do whatever she wants in young adult television now.  That's just how it works.

Also, did you know there was a movie?  Something called "Vacation With Derek."  I wonder if that Ashley Leggat girl did anything after Life With Derek?  **IMDbs (yes it's a verb)** Nope, not really.  She was on an episode of that annoying Aaron Stone show and some other movie.  But that's it.

Speaking of her, now I'm wondering if Michael Seater did anything else...

Well, he's in 18 to Life.  And Degrassi Goes Hollywood.  Which makes him infinitely amazing.  What am I saying?  He's Michael Seater.  He's DEREK.  THE DEREK.  Why would he NOT be amazing?

Okay, back to Jordan.  Did you know Wikipedia doesn't have access to a free image of her?  I guess posting a picture of her here would be violating copyright?  Well, she's really pretty so I'm gonna do it anyway (shhh, don't tell the cops).

Oh, whoa, she's only 6 months older than me.  That's not that much considering the 9 years between me and Adamo Ruggiero.

Ooh, look, she once said "It isn't always easy being me.  But for the most part, I wouldn't trade it for the world."  That's deep.

Then again, is it easy being anyone?  I doubt the president ever thinks "Wow, my life is easy."  And I'm pretty sure Degrassi is proof that teenagers don't sit around thinking "Well that was easy."  The girls sitting in their rooms pretending no one hits them can't help but cry while the gay football players who just want to be straight sometimes just want to scream.

Really the only people with easy lives are people who work at Staples and get to chill by the Easy Buttons.

Much Music Promo - TeenNick's Boiling Point But With Cooler Clips and a Dance Beat

So Much Music is going to be airing Degrassi in the same schedule that TeenNick will be.  Here's their promo: (Click here for video.)


My dissection of the promo has led me to conclude the following:


Okay, so the Coyne family is trying really hard to have a normal life.  Chill out, you're on Degrassi, it'll never happen.

That's mean :( The list is pink in this picture, but Dave is at the top, followed by some people I've never heard of.

Also, check out Connor and Wesley being rap stars in shirts that say "Vote Dave."

Fiona's boyfriend is definitely kissing someone.  She looks like Jenna, but her hair isn't blond enough... some completely random girl?


Okay, who gave Clare scissors?  This is like the season of weird haircuts.  Woohoo Harriet the Spy!


Holly J's telling someone to get revenge... the haircut looks like Manny during Venus.  No idea who she could be, but it seems like Holly J's being her jerky self, as always.  Mango says it's Anya... doesn't look like it to me, but we'll see.


Now Holly J's walking away from Declan and Fiona in a dramatic possibly angry way?  I thought they were gonna be a solid couple, I liked them.


Extension of the Fiona screaming and pulling away from her creeper boyfriend (who, in longer shots looks less like Zac Efron): He shouts "You are embarrassing yourself."  Why?  No idea, but she looks really upset.


Mrs. Coyne: "You can be a little intense."  Well apparently so can her boyfriend when he throws her down the stairs...


Declan: "Did you do this to my sister?"
Creepy gross boyfriend: "Your sister is a nut job."
So clearly people find out about the abusive relationship.  This is probably how she differs from Terri's abusive relationship.  Either someone sees her wounds or she tells someone and her family tries to help her.

Fiona and Holly J sharing a moment?  Fiona telling someone about jerkofaboyfriend's abuse?  Hopefully.


Okay, Sav is definitely not making out with Anya there, but the girl looks a little too dark skinned to be Bianca.  However, my gut is telling me it's her.


Anya told Holly J. she's pregnant?  Two-Faced Girl?  Is she lying to get back at Sav for being a colossal jerk (sorry, Mango)?  Or did something go wrong?


Random Blond Girl (Maybe the blonde from before who was passionately making out with Fiona's jerkofaboyfriend?): "What is your sister doing up on the roof?"  In the preceding shot, the girl's hair is a little too red to be Fiona, but maybe Annie Clark just has natural red highlights.  No one else has a sister with wavy hair and I doubt there's multiple people on the roof.


Mrs. Coyne: "Don't go looking for problems that aren't there."  Meanwhile we're seeing Fiona's black eye.  Is her mom doubting the abuse?


Okay, Bianca and Alli are... catwalking?  Meanwhile, Alli says "You think I'm the hottest girl at the school?" but that dialogue is from the scene with Drew we saw in the Boiling Point Promo, I think.


Riley and Zane being all cute while Drew (who is ridiculously cute but a bit of a jerk) tells Riley "That's the second time I've caught you checking out Mr. Gay."  Riley pushes away Zane, but there's a smile dancing on his lips... it's probably just them being all in love and Riley trying to pull away for a second.


Now a series of Fiona-abuse clips, some we've seen before followed by Mrs. Coyne saying "We can't let that bastard get away with that, can we?"  I'm pretty sure this means she wants to get the jerkofaboyfriend in trouble, but it could be just a misleading clip.

So this jerkofaboyfriend and randomblondgirl make out clip has been used 3 times so far, but this one's my favorite.  Fiona SEES them making out?  Oh dang, blond girl and jerkofaboyfriend.  You're in trouble.


Zane is doing pull-ups while some guy who has Drew's haircut lifts weights.


Holly J and Fiona romantically holding hands and walking down the hall.  What?  Since when are they friends?


So I've concluded one thing.  Degrassi: TNG season 10?  Gonna be intense.  I can feel it.

Graduation Day

So there's been a lot of confusion as to who's graduating.  The fact that this season was an extension of last season's school year threw everyone off either by making them think that more people were Juniors last year than there really are.  Others just thought no one would ever graduate again.


The season 9 Degrassi Community School graduating seniors are: 
1) Peter Stone
2) Danny Van Zandt
3) Johnny DiMarco
4) Bruce "The Moose" (he was "Mr. 2 Credits Shy" but it seems new characters are moving in to replace the old bullies and he wasn't confirmed to be in season 10.)


Now two other seniors are Jane and Riley.  Jane could quite possibly be done with Degrassi.  I love Paula Brancati but she's so talented she could've found some other role she prefered.  But Riley is almost definitely in season 10... getting more credits?  I don't know what he could be doing in Degrassi still, but he's in classes with Peter so I'm almost positive he's a senior.  We've seen the promos, he's definitely in the show.  How?  I guess we'll have to watch to find out.


As for Jane... if this is really her last season, I'll have to write a long post devoted to the awesomeness of both her and Paula Brancati and then cry a little bit because I can't imagine Degrassi without Jane.  The first episode that got me obsessed was Fight the Power, basically all about Jane and her awesomeness.  The character means a lot to me.

In The National Post

Paula, Raymond, Melinda, Charlotte, and Dalmar all sat around and discussed Drake's new album which comes out TODAY.

Thank Me Later is Drake's debut album and Dalmar said "Overall, I like the album -- I’d buy it.  If he sticks with it, I think Drake just might have a shot.”  The first song features Alicia Keys and it's about Rihanna, said the article.  I heard something on the radio earlier this week about how Drake went out with Rihanna and was geniunely interested until it was announced that she was playing him.  It's okay, Drake.  I'm here if you need me.  Just e-mail us (degrassipwns@gmail.com) and I will come to YOU!

Apparently, in another one of the songs ("Shut It Down"), Drake instructs the ladies to, “Put that [bad word] dress on and work it, girl.”
And according to Paula Brancati, "It's like, I want to put on that dress."  Uhm, okay Paula.  You do that.  

Director Pat Williams also seems to be taken by the song. “Want to strip to this?” he asks Arnold, whose character Hollie J. will be dirty dancing in an upcoming episode.

^ Wait... what?  1. They spelled her name wrong, and 2. DIRTY DANCING?! Holly J?? Now THIS is something I need to see in order to believe!

I know this is the third time today that I'm posting, but this has been bothering me since last Tuesday.

Tuesday was the premiere of Pretty Little Liars on ABCFamily and the book series is one of my absolute favorites in the WORLD.  As soon as I saw Emily, though, I went ballistic.  I wondered WHERE I had seen her before.

Because I had to cram like crazy for finals, I never found the time to search her.  Well, I just did, and she was in Up Where We Belong!  She was the model that Mia talked to when she (Mia) was about to have a meltdown over her speech.

Recap

I'm not sure if we posted all of this information, so I'm re-posting before we begin our hiatus for end-of-year exams.

1. Season 10 is 48 episodes.  It sounds like a lot for one summer, but one will be shown every weeknight at 9, starting in July.

2. Degrassi: The Boiling Point <-- This is on ACESonline3's channel, NOT MINE.

3. DTM has been announced with a plot that goes something like this: Jane and Holly J. set out for NYC.  Jane finds a new love that she's never dreamed of.  Holly J. is working towards becoming a TVM intern in Times Square and she will also be able to see Declan.  Back in Canada, Spinner is reuniting with Jay, Manny, and Emma, and they're having a blast. (Sorry, my summary writing skills are all worn out.)

4. I never actually published my review of Forgetting Sav Bhandari but if you watched it leave a comment with your remarks and maybe the review will actually be put out.

5. We forgot to announce Paula Brancati's birthday (June 4th) and Adamo Ruggiero's birthday (June 9th). HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND WE LOVE YOU!

Degrassi: The Boiling Point

A note to all blog new-comers: This post shows up a lot in Google.  However, it's relatively old.  Our blog is filled with Degrassi goodness, though, so feel free to use the search feature or just look in our archives on the left-hand side of the page for more recent posts with relative spoilers, reviews, and some behind the scenes secrets.  Thanks for reading! :)


So rumor has it, Degrassi's gonna reach the boiling point.  But since I had no idea what that meant, I decided I needed to do some extra research (by that I mean I had to sit in front of my TV and thoroughly examine the "Boiling Point" trailer.)  Here's what I've gathered.

Drew, a new character, walks in, saying he just transferred to a school down the street, which I'm gonna assume is Degrassi.

Eli sounds BRITISH which makes him infinitely awesome, but he also sounds like a complete sex offender (or just a mysterious sexy British guy?).  Eli flirts with Clare ("You have pretty eyes.")
Please note: the character sounds British in the trailer.  I'm not calling the guy a Brit.  Chill.

Declan: You promised no drama.

I think that's just kinda there to indicate transition because we all know there's gonna be drama.

Now Drew's threatening to reveal Riley's secret about being gay (hey, even the amazing Marco didn't come out to everyone all at once) and Riley seems genuinely threatened.  "You better step aside for QB1." It's a shame, too, because Drew is absolutely adorable.

Fiona walks away from this guy who kinda looks like a gross version of Zac Efron (no idea what his name is) but he gets mad and pulls her arm in a way that clearly hurts her.

Voice-over: And lies so devastating (cue Declan, Holly J, and Spinner head-shots.)

Spinner looks angry with Jane and Jane looks like she's gonna cry.  Spinner shouts, "You think I'm stupid Jane?  I HEARD YOU!"  Then Spinner swings a punch.  Rewind.  Slow down.  Spinner swings a punch at some guy in a bluish whitish shirt.  Rewind.  Slow down even more.  Spinner swings a punch at... Declan?!  Something tells me the Jane and Declan fling secret JUST got out.

Sav, Bianca, and Adam seem like they're doing something illegal in a potentially epic car chase scene while these two slimy looking guys I've never seen before get thrown up against a wall.

Drew and Alli seem to be together being all romantic, but I can't tell if they're the same clip or two completely unrelated scenes. (Well, in THIS PROMO, at about 0:23, Alli and Drew are together in Alli's house... -Mango)

Fiona struggling with that guy again.

Sav making out with some brunette... looks like Anya to me and now I think Anya's say "I thought it would be different this time."  Could it be they get back together again?  (I just looked at the 'Shark In The Water' promo again, and Holly J. fires a dagger at Sav on the target... maybe the brunette is HER?! That would be WEIRD. -Mango)
